We work alongside communities worldwide setting up entire systems that deliver clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene for millions. And we get the people, policies and money in place to keep these systems working – and the water flowing for good.
Almost one in 10 people still don’t have clean water close to home. The biggest reason for this isn’t technological – it’s political. That’s why we’re launching the WaterAid Campaigner Programme, to equip and empower campaigners to use your voices to help transform the world through water. We’re now recruiting our first cohort of volunteer campaigners.
- A passion for WaterAid’s work and determination to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere.
- Enthusiasm to amplify WaterAid’s campaigning and advocacy work on social media, in the community and with your political representatives.
- A friendly approach and strong inter-personal skills, with an ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Willingness to engage and encourage others to take part in WaterAid campaigns actions.
- A desire to become a strong campaigner and advocate and learn from WaterAid staff members and other volunteers.
- Commitment to attend monthly online workshops and check-ins.
- Commitment to attend at least one in-person WaterAid event such as Time to Deliver campaign stunt, UK government campaign hand-in etc.
- We are committed to ensuring our volunteer team reflects the diverse community we serve. To help us achieve a multi-generational perspective, we particularly welcome applications from younger volunteers (aged 18–35).
- The right to volunteer in the UK. If you are from a country outside the UK, you will need to check whether your visa allows you to volunteer.
