Crisis at Christmas

What You'll Do:

This year, we will open two hotels in Docklands and Aldgate, plus three day centres in Paddington, Pimlico, and Stratford. We are also piloting our new Women-Led Pathway in East London. Hotels will be open from 22nd December to 21st January, and day centres from 24th to the 28th December.

No matter your experience, there is a role for you! From general volunteers and hotel assistants to service providers, such as hairdressers and doctors.

Why You'll Love It:

You could be the friendly face someone sees when they walk through our doors. Or maybe you'll deliver festive hampers, provide healthcare, or offer advice. Whatever your role, you'll make a huge difference.

  • Access to relevant Crisis at Christmas training events
  • Support and advice from Crisis at Christmas staff team

  • Skills and knowledge in providing services for people experiencing homelessness
What You'll Learn:

Get involved to:

  • Gain skills

  • Help someone start a life out of homelessness
What We're Looking For:
  • Positive attitude and a general willingness to get involved
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with team
  • Be flexible to move around the centre as and when necessary
  • Have a good understanding of the aims of Crisis at Christmas and how the project works with year-round Skylight services and realistic expectations of what can be accomplished within the Crisis at Christmas time period
  • Be comfortable escalating any concerns to the Shift Team for a resolution
  • Sensitivity to the issues and needs of people experiencing homelessness and help to deliver the CC services in a caring and inclusive manner
