Volunteer Coach

What You'll Do:

The Role: Academic Coach

  • You will plan and deliver weekly academic coaching sessions to 3-5 pupils
    • We work with pupils from ages 11-18 across a range of subjects! At secondary school level we offer Maths or English coaching, and at A-Level we can offer a wide range of subjects to suit your specialism.
  • Sessions are 60 minutes long, and typically take place in the afternoon or after school.
  • Sessions will run face-to-face at one of our partner schools, but there are a few programmes that also run online.
  • You will form part of a wider community of volunteers, both on your programme and beyond!

Logistics

Before beginning your coaching programme, you will attend a 2-3 hour training session with the team, where you will learn coaching skills and techniques, session planning and safeguarding. You will also have to apply for a DBS certificate (the cost of which is covered by CoachBright).

Our programmes are 8 weeks long. This translates into:

  • Launch session (1-1.5 hours)
  • 6x 60 min academic coaching sessions
  • Graduation (2 hours)

You will also be expected to allocate approximately 45-60 minutes a week to planning sessions for your pupils.

Our Autumn programmes will run from October - December.

We work in schools all across London, and will try our best to place you on a programme that is convenient to your address.

All travel expenses will be reimbursed by CoachBright.
